The foundation of a high-quality double-wall insulated cup lies in the caliper and fiber strength of the packaging board. For the inner cup layer, PE-coated or PLA-coated food-grade paperboard (230gsm–320gsm) is required to ensure liquid resistance. The outer sleeve layer, typically a 210gsm–280gsm board, can be flat-printed, die-cut, and then loaded into the sleeve machine's automatic feeding magazine. The sleeve machine coordinates these two inputs seamlessly.
The sleeve machine extracts the die-cut outer blank, wraps it around a forming mandrel, and applies a precise configuration of hot-melt glue lines. Crucially, the adhesive must resist Sahelian environmental heat while remaining highly tacky during application.
